At White House Academy, our Religious Education (RE) curriculum is thoughtfully designed to align with our overarching pillar of 'Global Awareness'. We support children to gain a deep understanding of the world's major religions—Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism, and Buddhism—through the lenses of theology, philosophy, and the human and social sciences.
Children are encouraged to use their prior knowledge to engage in rich conversation and to begin to understand the religious and non-religious traditions that we have in Britain. This learning helps children to begin to make sense of our complex multi-religious society.
Children are encouraged to ask questions and reflect on what they have learnt. They are also encouraged to visit key places associated with the religions studied and to develop their vocabulary.
