White House Academy: Parent Governor Vacancy
We are excited to announce a vacancy for a Parent Governor at White House Academy and invite applications from parents who are passionate about making a positive impact on our school community. This voluntary role involves working as part of a dedicated team to ensure our Academy Committee remains connected with both parents and the wider community.
What does a good Parent Governor need?
- Good interpersonal skills, a willingness to learn, develop new skills, and attend relevant training sessions.
- The ability to support and challenge the school, contributing to its vision and direction.
- The ability to attend and actively participate in meetings while maintaining confidentiality.
- The ability to work collaboratively, valuing the contributions of others who may have different perspectives.
- Recognising that this role does not involve discussing personal matters related to your own child.
- Visiting the school between meetings to gain a deeper understanding of its functioning and progress towards goals.
Being a Governor is a "hands-off" role; while Governors influence school-wide decisions, they are not responsible for or involved in the day-to-day operations of the school.
